Anyone that has spoken to me in the last few months can understand the title of my first post. Not long after accepting the opportunity to go on this trip of a lifetime did I begin promising friends, family, coworkers and students that I would start a blog. The pressure set in. I normally spend hours thinking about what to name a mix CD or the math card game to practice exponents. You can only imagine the time that has gone into coming up with the perfect blog name for a journey that will last 10 months. Friends definitely helped--
Krista: "She's Gone Black. But Will She Come Back?"
Curl: "Ms. Kitty Poppins"
Garza: "Kateriotism"
Laura: "Peaches n Cream." "Riding Solo". "Darko God Damnit"
Emma: "Fuck You. I'm Going on an Amazing Trip"
Andi: "Ms. Kirley and the Circumference of the Globe" (this will be the student friendly version!)
All of these were great and definitely made me giggle, but I decided on something a little more simple. The Katie K Chronicles. I liked the alliteration and even thought about getting real crazy and spelling chronicles with a K, but I refrained for two reasons. First, I have a strong dislike for using the letter K incorrectly in words (Kwik Trip, Krazy Glue, etc.). Second, Katie K Khronicles would not create the best acronym. So The Katie K Chronicles it is.

In the months ahead, I promise to post pictures and share incredible stories in a chronological order and as you look at the itinerary, one can only imagine the legendary material. Since my college days, writing has not been a large part of my daily routine--unless you count writing lyrics to the GLCS "Test Rock" or BBM's. (I apologize ahead of time for grammatical errors) However, I am hoping this blog allows whoever is reading to feel apart of this trip! So here goes...The Katie K Chronicles.
